Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel Bourbon

Killed my first bottle of ECTB last night, and I can't wait to get another. The last pour may have been the best, too. Elijah Craig sweetness on the nose, and plenty of sweetness on the palate. Toasted marshmallow, soft notes of floral oak, and just a tingle of spice on the end. Sadly, this is hard to find on the shelves so I'm hoping maybe woodford double oaked or old forester 1910 will be a worthy replacement until I can secure another bottle of ECTB. This is my favorite Elijah Craig expressions, in addition to being one of my overall favorite bourbons.

Neat. Neck pour. The nose is exactly what I expected. Roasted peanut brittle. Roasted extra crispy. Some nice vanillas and butterscotch. Graham cracker crust. Slight hint of peach. I like this nose quite a bit. It’s just warm and inviting. Creamy mouth feel despite the low proof. The toasted marshmallow note hits the tongue immediately with its sweetness. Flows nicely into a delicious peanut brittle. Leaves a little vanilla on the finish but more or less drops off immediately. This is delicious. It’s not complex or anything. It’s just peanut brittle with a few roasted marshmallows on top. I’m a fan of this and not sure why it’s decisive. Maybe it’s the finish? At MRSP this is a buy. I would not go over that though.
