This limited edition Toasted Barrel bottling was created to commemorate the 2023 Ryder Cup, the biennial men's golf competition between teams from Europe and the United States. The 2023 event is set for September 29th-October 1st at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome, Italy. With that in mind, this bottling begins with fully matured Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon.
It is then finished in new European oak barrels which were toasted with a profile used in the production of Lazio wines which are made in and around Rome. Available nationally beginning August 2023. (SRP $99.

Tasting Notes
"A distinct aroma of toasted biscuits or scones with butter leads the nose, with underlying notes of stewed orchard fruits, caramel, and cinnamon. This is a big, rich, and viscous number, with flavors akin to a peach melba topping—buttery, stewed peaches and sweet spices coating the throat. A spark of heat and a hint of tart fruit flavor break up some of the richness clinging to the back of the throat in this almost dessert-like expression. "
