Embajador Premium Tequila
Embajador // Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Embajador grows their agave in the Los Altos region of Jalisco, where it is harvested at 8-10 years and processed at their facility in Atotonilco. The agave is roasted in adobe ovens, and distilled in column stills for a combination of tradition and modern technique. The Premium (reposado) is aged 8 months in a combination of American (ex-bourbon) and French (ex-Cognac) oak.
Tequila ReposadoDistilled from 100% blue Weber agave, it is aged from 2 months up to a year in barrels no larger than 20,000 L. Any type of wood is acceptable, although ex-bourbon barrels are most common. Reposado translates to "rested".
Cask TypeEx-Bourbon American White Oak and Ex-cognac French Limousin Oak
"This is a super dry, earthy and smoky style of reposado. Cooked agave and roasted green pepper combines with pine needle, woodsy botanicals, grapefruit zest, and rosemary. Soft sweetness shows up in the form of cooked berries, deep caramel, and cappuccino to balance it out nicely toward the finish and save it from being too dry. "
