Nose:
Caramel candy, hints of fresh mint, some rye bread, moist brown sugar and medicinal cherry.
Palate:
mouth coating, touch of lemon pepper, vanilla wafers, cherry from the nose, delicate earth notes and a few herbs
Finish:
Light green peanut, char (like that charred meat on the side of ribs, if you get what I'm saying), lingering spices and a hint of corn husk.
Overall Lux has done a good job on this! This is an amazing work horse for the bar. I can see this working well in a smoked old fashioned or maybe even a Manhattan. However, the herbs and green peanut might scare off the average sipper, but if you're a fan of high rye bourbon, this one is worth the try... especially for $25.
