FEW Single Malt Whisky

Dark Chocolate and smoky. I like both those in my whiskey but it didn't work here

N: very astringent. Lemon, sawdust, vegetal. P: really not much depth to speak of. Bitter almonds, cough drop sweetness, some herbs. No rounded fruit or caramel flavors at all. F: continued cough drops, faintly menthol. I've never literally drain poured anything, but this is testing me. I would happily drink water if this was my only option for any alcoholic beverage.

Just a sample yet this feels underappreciated. Bread, burnt, spice, some very light corn like sweetness. Just a solid dram if you are looking for a non-bourbon American offering.

Start a hint of sweet transitioning into a smoky / spicy taste with a lingering finish

Not a fan. Has a unique smell that I don’t care for - maybe some funky bread or wet saw dust? I can taste some chocolate and spicy notes, but it’s got a finish taste that I don’t quite enjoy.

Notes of malted barely with spicy hints. Tones of rye and spicy on the palate with a sweeter cherry like aftertaste.
