Nose: spices, those candy orange slices with the sugar on the outside, burnt sugar, toast
Palate: wheat bread, toast
Finish: good for the proof, warm
Overall: I’m not a huge 4 Roses fan with more of the floral notes, but I like this one.
On the nose things started sweet with chocolate and nougat, brown sugar, dark rich plum, and cherry. Notes like worn leather and cedar wood finished out the bouquet.
One is welcomed with warmth, caramel, spicy curry, and a rich Christmas baked pastry dessert.
The finish is of medium length with a spicy exit.
Neck pour. Will come back later and update. First impression is I don’t enjoy it as much as I hoped. More bitter than what I prefer in my bourbon. Maybe I’m a wheated guy?
