I could feel chocolate / cocao on the nose. First taste has a bit of spice but gives way to some caramel taste. Good mouthfeel and a lingering but not overpowering heat. Its got a lovely sweetness as it opens up after being in the glass a while, i got some brown sugar.
Palate: Vanilla, fruit, some sweet oak
Nose: Caramel, vanilla, cherry that slowly transitions to baking spices
Finish: Short-to-medium with cherry and baking spices
A significant step up from Four Roses' small batch. This pour has a good body to it and is a mix of six of the ten Four Roses recipes. Also at 104 proof, this packs a little bit darker flavor and more punch on the finish—a welcome sipper on a given night.
Nose: Slightly fruity with caramel, vanilla and baking spice notes.
Palate: Slightly rich, with caramel, vanilla, cherries, oak, baking and rye spices.
Finish: Longish with caramel, berries, oak and baking spices.
A step up from the Small Batch.
Distiller Review No. 891
On the nose a little stone fruit and chocolate, as eell as some sweetness and a little proof. Buttery caramel on the tongue, semi sweet chocolate and a little warmth. Has a stone fruit sweetness in the middle and Smooth all the way through. A little more
