Frey Ranch Straight Rye

Bold, with spice, mint and alcohol heat up front. Some nice herbal and maybe chocolate or cereal on the back end. A bit harsh/strong; definitely a rye lovers’ rye, makes a great old fashioned and good neat if you don’t mind the heat.

Good clean rye that was easy drinking.

Was really quite blown away by this — I haven’t been this smitten with a new craft rye since I first tasted Wilderness Trail Rye. The folks at Frey Ranch really know what they are doing, as the flavors here are all very balanced and the 100-proof point is perfect.
