Penelope Toasted Rye (Batch 23-303)
Rye — Indiana , USA
Reviewed November 3, 2023 (edited July 10, 2024)Really nice layers of flavor - spice, caramel, sitrus and other fruits. The sweetness rounds out the rye spice nicely. -
Sagamore Spirit Double Oak Rye
Rye — Maryland, USA
Reviewed October 31, 2023 (edited November 29, 2025)Well balanced spicy and sweet rye with some fruity notes. Reminded me of a chocolate orange and Christmas spices — in the best way. -
New Riff 6 Year Bottled in Bond Malted Rye
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 23, 2023 (edited November 29, 2025)Like a rich, dark chcolate covered peppermint paired with a caramel latte. The finish is particularly long and sweet. This is a dessert pour through and through, and downright delicious. -
Craigellachie 13 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed August 21, 2023 (edited April 1, 2026)Slightly unexpected combination of creamy, savory, and salty/mineral notes. Has a bit more character than most entry-level highland/speyside scotches but doesnt quite impress either.70.0 USD per Bottle -
Chattanooga Whiskey Barrel Finishing Series: Islay Scotch Cask Finish
Other Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed July 26, 2023Sweet bourbon flavors with a smoky scotch layer especially prominent on the finish, tied together by the malty, grainy Chattanooga foundation. Phenomenal stuff neat, and takes an old fashioned to the next level. -
Woodinville Cask Strength Straight 100% Rye
Rye — Washington, USA
Reviewed June 26, 2023 (edited December 17, 2023)(Barrel pick from Brown Jug AK) Lots of flavor and more floral and dark fruit notes than I’ve noticed in most ryes. Nicely balanced w/the oak, vanilla, and spice. Alcohol burn is present but not overwhelming. A splash of water brings out more floral and fruit notes and mutes the ethanol - recommend trying both. Really nice stuff.80.0 USD per Bottle -
Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Single Batch Series Batch 027: Moscatel + Sauternes Barrel Finished
Bourbon — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed June 18, 2023 (edited November 17, 2023)Wow. This may be the best effect I’ve ever tasted from a barrel finish. The wine barrels gave some seriously rich, powerful raisin and fruit notes that complement the bourbon perfectly. Not overly complex but wow is it delicious.80.0 USD per Bottle -
Conflicted about this one. Really unique and standout flavors - spicy rye and mint dueling with citrus and fruit and an earthy grain flavor I’m guessing is from the malted barley. The proof and mix of flavors are a bit much and harsh on the finish, though, even watered down. Not a repeat buy for me but very unique. Great in blind tastings.85.0 USD per Bottle
