Jack Daniel's Gentleman Jack

On the nose explosion of vanilla, caramel, and mushy bananas with hints of rye spice and a light peppery note. I have never been able to pick up the "typical" banana note associated with Jack Daniels products, but this one it really smacks you in the face. On the mouth swish, burnt caramel and rye spice are the predominant flavors with the banana notes from the nose being completely lost. The promise of a wonderful sip from all those lovely notes from the nosing are all but lost with none of the banana, and vanilla apparent at all. The caramel note evident on the nose becomes altered with a burnt flavor that isn't unpleasant but is surprising as no smoke or trace of charring is present on the nose.
