George Dickel 11 Year Bottled in Bond Tennessee Whisky (Fall 2008)

Finish is short, but very low in heat making this a super easy dipper. Full creamy mouthfeel an unexpected bonus." Was pleasantly surprised, great body and mouthfeel, prominent cherry, enjoyable. Not typical of Dickel for me. Make sure the bottle you come across says "bottled in Tullahoma" on the side. If it doesn't, you'll have a different experience.

Darn, this is pretty good whiskey. Was not expecting that much flavor from a Dickel. No 'Flinstones Vitamin ' funk either. The 13yr release from last year has a def mineral tang to it, but somehow the younger 11 year is just damn good whiskey. For the price, it's a total buy-it. Looking forward to next years release.

Finish features barrel char, chocolate, the nutmeg from the nose, and just a hint of mineral. I’m going to tell you if I got Flintstones it was going to kill it for me, but it’s more of a mineral spring note and in no way unpleasant. Finish is short, but very low in heat making this a super easy sipper. Full creamy mouthfeel an unexpected bonus. Overall, an enjoyable little smooth sipper here. MUCH better than the “Hand selected” 9 year product simply because of less vitamins. Lots to like but lacks a little complexity and punch to measure up with the big boys. At $44 it’s a “fair” value. But hey a 3.75 is a pretty good rating for me for a Dickel product.

Nose is an apple pie with caramel topping. Fruit persists on the palate and a mild heat in the roof of your mouth and warmth in the chest. A very approachable whiskey. Very similar to the first release. Slightly mineral aftertaste.
