Gordon & Macphail Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength // Speyside, Scotland
In an effort to modernize, the 122-year-old company Gordon & MacPhail overhauled all its ranges in April 2018. The Connoiseurs Choice was the first to receive a new design.
One of the first new releases sporting this look, is a whisky from Speyside distillery Glen Elgin, that matured for 20 years in a first-fill sherry butt. This is bottled at cask strength.

Tasting Notes
"A great start with orange liqueur, before moving on to raisins, cherry syrup and cocoa powder. Truly delicious stuff from an active cask. The palate displays more of the same with, added blackcurrants and roasted coffee, perfectly complimenting the nose. Maybe not the most polished whisky, but a treat nonetheless."
