Glen Garioch // Highlands, Scotland

The "house style" used to be peated, but since that year, all new whiskies are unpeated.

This whisky was released to show off their oldest new expression (if that makes sense) and is the first release of an intended 4-part series from youngest to oldest.

Tasting Notes
"What it lacks in peat it makes up for in spice and earthy depth. Stone fruit flavors (yellow peach, apricot, plum) are set off by orange peel, caramel, dark chocolate and toffee. Then the cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and black pepper with a hint of ginger kick in, with some pipe tobacco joining for the finish. There's a very rich, biscuity mouthfeel throughout to anchor all the flavors. Really opens up with a drop of water."
