Nose (w/o water): You get dark fruity notes at first. Then my favourite comes along, in the form of plums with cinnamon and wood spice, but with time you get lighter fruits, which you would expect in a gewuerztraminer.
Taste (w/o water): Big arrival. Dark fruits, honey, some alcohol burn, charred wood with almost peaty notes, which goes into a long mouth watering finish that is worthy a 18yo sherry whisky! The Oloroso casks really shine in the finish as it becomes very dry, in a pleasant way.
Summary: A beautiful sherry matured whisky that is worth the money and it comes with perfect ABV, as always in Glendronach. It's a stronger expression than the 12yo but falls a little short in comparison the the 21yo, which is just stunning! However, regarding the price I would rate this 87/100.
