Nose: winter berries, heather, school science lab, milk chocolate, honey, oak, raisin and sherry wine gum (yummy) Palate: warm spicy sherry, walnut, blackberry, cinnamon, strong black tea Finish: spice, tannin, orange, chewed matchstick _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Semi-Final 2: Glenfarclas 12yo versus BenRiach Curiositas 10yo Curiositas killed this cat. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- The intolerable torment of a whiskyphile. I have too large a backlog of samples and miniatures to go through. Selecting a dram can be confusing – like Lloyd and Harry’s budgie I can barely keep my head together. So, I have picked sixteen scotch whiskies that are 12yrs or younger or NAS to battle it out in a Scotch Deathmatch. It’s my incentive to lighten the logjam. Sweet, scotch malt, pear

BLIND TASTING: Light gold color with very light legs Nose: Initial sweet nose. malt Palate:Very light with some malt flavor coming through. I find the palate rather unremarkable. Finish: Short with most flavour fading fast. Proof is low. I'd say around 43% This is an easy sipper which would most likely make a great intro to whiskey. 3/5 Uodate: After sipping a while, I think I might sense a small amount of peat.

Nose: sliced apples (honeycrisp), honey, table salt (with water): becomes a caramel apple nose, lovely Taste: plum, port wine, sour, blackberry (with water): a little allspice note, nutmeg Finish: long finish, warm hug, all spice, dark fruit

Nose: honey, sherry, barley and oak. Taste: sherry, honey, barley, and Christmas cake. Tasty sherried whisky of the Speyside. Nicely smooth and sweet everyday dram. Sherry and barley in a bottle.
