One very nice bang for your buck quarter century cask whisky. This has notes of dark chocolate, almonds, oranges , Hazlenuts, coffee, honey, butter cookies, banana bread, gingerbread, pepper, nutmeg, christmas cakes, apricots, raisins, sultanas, pineapples, peaches, and rum raisin ice cream.

Classic Spey. Sherry and oak right away. Fruity, orange peel, coffee, leather. There's a puff of smoke reminiscent of it's younger bottles. No heat. It's thin and washes out quickly with very little finish. It's clean. Where the younger ones pop with sherry, this is subdued. But then it swells back with a creamy chocolate and more dry oak lingering finish. Strange how it disappears and reappears.
It's great to have a 25 year for just under $200 but it's not a bottle I will seek out again. I don't get the bang for my buck. I like the 17, not more than this, but at half the price. Overall this is very, very good stuff if you are looking for a Spey with more depth than the usual.

First off, $180 for a 25, especially this 25, Is. A. Steal.
The nose is something special. Deep, rich vanilla and doughy bread notes followed by hints of dried fruits and caramel.
The palate is rich and malty, buttery, and nicely refined with honey and creamy vanilla shortbread, frosted cereal flakes, lemon curd, and a light sherry spice. The finish is especially smooth, if not just a little thin.
Buy a bottle. Buy 5. And call me when you crack it open, I’ll be right over.🏆
