Glenfarclas 8 Year
Single Malt
Glenfarclas // Highlands, Scotland
Located along the River Spey, Glenfarclas sees fame as both a top flight Scotch whisky and one of the oldest distilleries.
Glenfarclas boasts having six of the largest stills in the Highlands, although they are unique in more than just their size, being direct-fired by gas, as opposed to the more common method of steam heating.

Tasting Notes
"Quite dark for one so young, the habitual oloroso cask-aging is evident just by glancing at this whisky. Spices and fruit bounce off the surface when nosing with dried fruits and light wines moving through. The palate is very sweet and fruity with spices in the background that grow in intensity towards cinnamon and nutmeg sprinkled on a small bed of praline nuts and vanilla flowers. Green herbal notes come forward as well emboldened by a backing of peaches and sultanas. The finish is filled with spiced wood, sherry fruits, and the sweet sugars of toffee."
