Speyside's Glenglassaugh distillery came under new ownership in 2013, overseen by Billy Walker and the BenRiach Whisky Company. Evolution is one of its premier expressions after this change. It was aged in first fill ex-George Dickel Tennessee Whiskey casks and non-chill filtered.
Single MaltDistilled in pot stills from 100% malted barley, produced at one distillery, aged in barrels; if Scotch or Irish, must be aged for at least three years.
"This Scotch has a wonderful sweet campfire smell with strong vanilla notes. Very creamy and fruity on the palate, like a peach pie topped with vanilla ice cream. There's also an elegant waft of charcoal grill smoke in the finish. Very well balanced, smooth and easy to drink. If a whisky can be described as "relaxing," this is it!"
