Reviewed December 30, 2024Glenmorangie 13-Year-Old Single Malt Cognac Barrel Finished Single Barrel Select (2021 Release) is a delicate, Single Malt Scotch Whisky by Dr. Bill Lumsden for Glenmorangie Distillery in Highland, Scotland aged for over 8 years in ex-bourbon barrels then finished in ex-Cognac casks for over 4 years; then bottled at 46% ABV. It has an aromatic birth with notes of citrus, tree fruits, nuts & wood; while a rich & life adds notes of spiced apple, yellow plum, orange oils, buttery biscuits, honey, caramel, vanilla, clove & flaked almonds atop warm pastries; that led to a zesty death of medium length with notes of orange rind, caramelized fruits, leather, oak & cedar. Reviewed September 3, 2022 (edited September 5, 2022)The nose has fruity notes, especially pineapple jumped at me, and a little honey. The palate has some artificial flavors. The finish is medium, with a little spicy/peppery. Overall, this is ok but is not one of my favs from Glenmorangie. -
