Nose: crisp apple, pear, oak, slight spice, vanilla, crushed red grape, nutmeg,
Very interesting and pleasing to the nose. One of my favorite to enjoy like this.
Pallet: slight peat, not that complex as it is on the nose and I would have thought. I get a lot of oak, slight astringent.
Finish: not very lasting but about the same as I described in the pallet.

I had high hopes for this one as I thought the 10 year quite a nice drop, quite rich and viscous and great value. Initially when opened it I thought it needed to calm down but a week later it was still the same. Slightly bitter ethonally flavor out-competes the remaining components. I gave this 3 goes and was shared amongst a wide number of others with same opinion. Maybe dud bottle? Well down the list of Glenmorangie favourites. At least at $85 it didn't break the bank.
Just nudges out my Glengoyne 15 year for personal favourite. First smell to sip was just mind blowing. An absolutely astonishing whisky which I think is worthy of the price tag. Nectar D'or is something really special and a staple in my collection but the 18 is just a step up again and my new go to Glenmorangie. As a matter of fact my new go to fullstop!
