Glenmorangie Signet

Okay kids, had some time with this under my belt. Final summation is an Orange and Seranno pepper chocolate bar. It’s opened up so well. Super complex, not my cup of tea in hindsight but worth the money! Impressive!

Whiskey night tasting with friends, tasted blind. The nose and front end come across like other Glenmorangies, but in the back comes the taste of old oak and then a big chocolate note, which almost tasted artificial, like Tootsie Roll even. I really enjoyed this one and was thrilled to be able to try, but after tasting, I know it's not one I'd want to splurge on.

Truly a wonderful whisky. Fabulous finish. At the end of the day it’s price is too steep for what it delivers.

Distiller review No. 600 I swear I heard Frank singing the entry of Cheek to Cheek when I first nosed this amazing whiskey. Chocolate, orange peel, espresso, malt, vanilla, fruit leather, baking spices fill my nostrils inducing a temporary raptured condition. I could nose this for days. The notes from the nose continue on the rich, viscous and semisweet palate and lengthy finish. The only mar on this otherwise excellent whiskey is a slight, and I mean slight, artificially sweet note towards the end of the finish. I want to have this Scotch always on my shelf!
