"The aroma is a bit muted, but after a few tastes the charred oak casks and rye whiskey influence comes in a bit stronger. In fact, it dominates the single malt making it difficult to discern the style of whisk(e)y you're drinking. On the mid-palate you can find a bit of richness with some warm barrel spices. There's some peppery notes at the finish which leans on the bitter side. Seems a bit boring and for folks that don't like single malt whiskies. It's modestly priced so if you've got a bottle, best to mix in simple long drinks like a whiskey and ginger ale."
