Grangestone Highland Single Malt Bourbon Cask Finish

A rich, Single Malt from Highlands, Scotland aged 7 to 9 years in oak barrels, then finished in former Bourbon casks for 6 months. It has a sweet birth with notes of citrus & oak; while life is green & leafy adding notes of caramelized fruit, vanilla & spice; that led to a delicate death with hint of corn. March / November 2018 / February 2019 / August 2022 / July 2023

Nothing stands out, but a good value pick.

Apple Lime fresh smell, taste like cookies and vanilla. Short retrotaste.

The nose boasts notes of dusty corn, old books, grains, vanilla, and lemon. The palate is mild then turns hot like Hot Tamales candy with caramel candy notes. The finish is harsh with medium long length.

Not a fan of this. I can taste the burbon, which I'm not happy about. This struggles to be a Scotch for me.

Nose: oak, acetone, cherry, vanilla Palate: very young, oaky, vanilla, subtle toffee/ caramel Finish: slight smoke/peat, tobacco, slight spice Grabbed a 50ml of this and the Sherry finish at the register of Total Wine for $2 mostly for shits and giggles. Not awful but not remarkable. Have no interest in ever buying the full bottle. Gonna use the rest for cocktails
