This second release in Heaven's Door's Decade Series is a straight rye whiskey. Aged for 10 years, this rye whiskey was made from a mash bill recipe of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. Heaven's Door Master Blender Alex Moore worked with dozens of rye whiskeys to create this bottling.

RyeUnlike bourbon, rye whiskey can be made anywhere in the world. But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.

Tasting Notes
"The aroma of the rye leans more on the grassy and herbal side of things along with some wood varnish and sweet pastry dough. It has a medium light body with a peppery and tangy flavor that leans more bittersweet. Again you get more of those herbal and grassy notes coming through. Not super complex, but nice enough. The length of the finish is average."
