A Midwinter Night's Dram is a seasonal release from High West and Act 12 marks the 12th annual edition. It begins with the brand's Rendezvous Rye, a blend of straight rye whiskeys which are made from two mash bill recipes: one is a 95% rye/5% malted barley distilled in Indiana and the other is an 80% rye/20% malted rye made at High West in Utah. Then the rye blend is further finished in ruby and tawny port casks.
Note: The Act reflects the batch number (Act 12 is the 2024 release) while the Scene is the bottling date. Available in limited quantities at High West Distillery and Saloon locations and via High West's website beginning October 2024. (SRP $149.

RyeRye produced in the US must be made of at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels (no age requirement). Elsewhere, it will be made according to the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.

Tasting Notes
"The aroma is mild with scents of dark berries and oak along with a touch of vanilla and herbal rye. The mouthfeel is average with a smooth and medium sweet flavor. Tannins are gentle and there's a bit of chocolate here. The finish is of moderate length and is pleasant with a more dark fruit and a warming spice. While not super complex, it is easy to drink and balanced. "
