RyeUnlike bourbon, rye whiskey can be made anywhere in the world. But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.
Tasting Notes
"The aroma shows plenty of toasted oak, vanilla, and an herbal rye scent. As you taste, the peppery rye bite comes through along with the green herbal notes which stick with you throughout the tasting experience. The char flavor is present as well. It's a dry whiskey, but not too raw and tannic. Just the slightest hint of sweet to smooth out the rough edges. Further tastes brings out a savory, beef jerky scent. It's a hearty rye which folks can drink neat or with an large rock."
