Hooten Young 12 Year American Whiskey (Batch No. 1)

Good full flavor, on the thicker side. I'd prefer a little more vanilla cream to rate this higher. A little burn drinking neat. I feel the burn on the front and back of the tongue. Probably really good on ice.

Nice change from my usual bourbon. Really enjoyed it. Light taste on the palette but with a viscous mouthfeel and medium/long finish probably due to the 12 year age.

Batch no. 1. Nose of orange, vanilla, green apple, bell pepper, white pepper, melon, maple syrup, cake icing and oak. Very smooth, a bit candy-like on the palate, with flavors of green apple jolly ranchers, maple syrup, vanilla, wedding cake and icing. Somewhat short, but sweet, finish. Pretty solid and easy drinking.

Warm vanilla and slight spice. Perfect cigar pairing.

Very easy drinking low proof with a strawberry cheesecake dessert lasting flavor. Picked this up after seeing it on The Terminal List. Between it and other veteran bourbon Horse Soldier I’d still take their cask strength or single barrel but this was a good buy
