I saw this at The White Rabbit Bottle Shop while visiting the Jack Daniel Distillery. A sign said it’s only sold in five states, and California wasn’t one of them, so I took a bottle home.
I was told the green label comes from the lower ricks of the warehouse and is aged 4–5 years, whereas the black label comes from the middle ricks and is aged 6–8 years.
That being said, it tastes like a dilute, less mature version of the black label. It’s crisper and harsher, with the banana element more pronounced. I’m glad I tried it, but I wouldn’t seek out another bottle.
