Connoisseurs on sites like this tend to pooh-pooh Old Number 7 since it's common, well known, and drank everywhere. But, there's a reason it's so damn popular: It's pretty damn good. A very solid, very approachable American whiskey that taken on it's taste merits stands well above it's perception by the 'whiskey connoisseur' crowd.
Nose: Sweet caramel and toffee.
Entry: Mild, full. Sweet brown sugar, vanilla, tons of banana taste, mild barrel char.
Finish: More banana and sweetness with a lingering char/smoke.
