Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye (2020 Special Release)

This may be my favorite new rye of 2020! Jack Daniels hit a bulls eye with this whiskey. My only complaint is that the nose was a bit faint which was surprising for the proof. The palate was amazing: think rock candy, caramel, spearmint, barrel char and baking spices! It is delicious. The finish is great as well with more barrel char, spices and lip smacking candy. The proof isn’t overwhelming either. I recommend 3-4 drops of water and I used a frozen whiskey ball.

Wow this is smooth...light spice and underline sweetness balance any proof burn. Very well done, a new fav Rye to the short list.

Nose: banana, spices, clove, caramel and dill Palate: Christmas in a glass...banana foster with black pepper, dill, honey and caramel Finish: long lasting, very oily and back end with the dill, pepper and oak Wonderful whiskey if you can find for around retail ~$65

No way this is as high proof as they say. Super drinkable and probably the best Rye I have had.

Sweet and oily Fruit cake and chocolate Finish- Pepper, peppermint, little to no burn.
