Jack Daniel's // Tennessee, USA
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Rye was released in February 2016 as part of the brand's Single Barrel Collection. It follows the release of Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select and Barrel Proof.
The mash bill is comprised of 70% rye, 18% corn and 12% malted barley grain. Master Distiller Jeff Arnett created this expression using the same cave spring water, proprietary yeast, and charcoal-mellowing process as their 150-year-old Tennessee Whiskey recipe.

RyeUnlike bourbon, rye whiskey can be made anywhere in the world. But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.

Tasting Notes
"Find surprising notes of bananas - resembling those chewable "banana runts" candies you may have had as a kid -and vanilla custard dominant on the nose. Also rye spice and light hints of tropical fruit. The palate offers a dry, oaky profile, with more rye along with brown sugar and a cast of baking spices- cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. A smooth finish brings back the sweeter notes of banana and vanilla, along with caramel, oak, rye and a bit of black pepper."
