Possibly the smoothest fireball I've ever tasted. 375ml, Rick L-1, Barrel 18-6735, bottled 2018-09-26, 133.9 proof, 67%ABV. Instant numbness around the edges of my tongue but none of the usual bite at that strength. A flood of flavor: rich and full. An equal amount of water reveals lots of "comfort food" tastes: vanilla, maybe cinnamon, some molasses or brown sugar hits in the majority. Bouquet has all of the above (except numbness!) plus some earthy, umami-ish tones, maybe leather? Finish is likewise smooth, exits gracefully but remains close by like good friends lounging in the foyer on their way out. I'd definitely buy this again to drink neat or with water or ice, and it would make a fine addition to a cocktail calling for whisky.
