Jefferson's Reserve Very Old Bourbon

Light and pleasant fruit nose, peppery in the mouth, deep cherry finish

Nice and well rounded bourbon

Tons of sweetness on the nose and palate, predominately honey. Delicate, sweet spices as well, making for a mellow finish. This would be a fairly perfect whisky for the holiday season, as it’s got a winter-y warmth about it. Not particularly complex, but very easy to drink.

Nose: brown sugar, caramel, vanilla Taste: caramel, toffee, vanilla, pepper Finish: honey, oak, pepper, vanilla, spices. Good but surprisingly subtle.

Bought at Martins in Heritage Square (they had a single barrel pick, but I opted for the normal expression). Pours very nicely and is a lighter medium amber. Smell is very butterscotchy with pepper and caramel. Taste is butterscotch and subtle vanilla with mint, tobacco, and toffee peeking through. The finish is quite crisp with sweet honey and soft oak.
