Jim Beam Rye

First "Rye" I ever had... That was more than 30 years ago.

I don't know why Jim Murray has such a high opinion of this. Mayber it was good decades ago, but not for the past several years. It is, however, cheap.

Not terribly special neat, although it was my first rye so I didn't know what to expect. A light spice on the palate. If you must mix whiskey, this is fantastic in coke. It retains plenty of flavor if you're not trying to drown it.

Little bit of sweet on the nose, but equal parts alchohol burn. Really muted flavour and too much burn. Not a fan. Would opt for rittenhouse over this

Used this for a homemade Rock n Rye

Jim Beam (Rye if available) + Club Soda = My most common bar drink.

Spice blocks the taste

Grew up putting it in hot tea with lemon and honey when sick. Still first choice for that.

Great Rye for the price.

It's like a rye field punched you in the mouth. A good punch.
