Reviewed February 3, 2023For a lower proof alcohol, I have a great affinity to this stuff. It’s very smooth, but citrus is the most detectable notes I get here, and in some moments feels almost like a watered down gin without the juniper. it’s a relatively easy going drink with a lot of applications for mixing. -

Reviewed April 12, 2021I first learned about shochu years ago from an Army buddy that was stationed in South Korea. He said that guys in his unit would take the new guy out on the town and have him drink loads of this stuff and when he tried to stand up he passed out. Jinro is similar to weak well-filtered vodka. It has next to no flavor on its own aside from a little sweetness very similar to Sake. Jinro has very little burn consumed neat and when mixed with any fruit juice it completely disappears. I did some research and the South Koreans will also mix this with beer to make their version of a Boilermaker. This would work best for low-proof drinks and add a little kick to beer but I do not know if I would keep it in my bar long term I just see myself using it outside a few special occasions. I believe this is worth a try especially if you like new things but to me, it is a niche drink. Enjoy.7.0 USD per Bottle
