Alcohol hits you when first opening but after allowing it to breathe the Carmel, oak , Tobacco, leather and vanilla are in front and is quite the nightcap

Neat. Neck pour if new bottle. It could be the Mash Bill 1 rumors biasing me but the nose reminds me of EHT SiB right off the bat. Hint of cola with the heavy oak and vanilla. Hint of berries and mint.
Nice smooth creamy texture on tongue. Feels thick on the tongue but then then on the edges as the oil comes around. Brown sugar on the tongue. Then uppercuts you with that vanilla. Hint of cola persists on the legs. Subsequent sips brings in the berries on top of the vanilla.
Official review must have had a bad barrel. This is great stuff. I would put this against EHT SiB in a blind flight.
Color: Amber with slight reddish tint
Nose: Vanilla and some spice with slight floral note. Don’t love the nose as a whole.
Palate: wheat spice, oak with touch of cinnamon somewhere underneath. The sweetness takes a little time to find but once I did its a bright sweet and low kinda sweet
Body: Lighter weight and consistency to it.
Finish: Medium finish that fades with vanilla and cinnamon.
Balance: Ok on balance. Not stelllar
Final number: 86

Nose: sweet vanilla with hint of stone fruit (cherry, apricot or peach)
Palate: oak char forward, vanilla, and fruit. Smooth for the proof, but not complex.
Finish: medium-long with good mouth warmth
