    Nose: light hint of fruit and melon with stronger citrus (lemon) note. Appearance: light straw color with thin legs. Palate: light melon with the presence of smokiness. Has a medium to light finish. Would recommend making a split based old fashion with a lighter flavored Bourbon to compliment both spirits.

    9/15/20 Stave & Hoops Speakeasy Missoula, Montana Nose: brown sugar sweetness, vanilla syrup with a “berry” note Palate: Vanilla, light oak with sweetness from baking spices Finish: good mouth feel, medium finish with sweet notes For not being an actual bourbon, it has good flavors and depth

    7/28/2020 Nose - light caramel vanilla with note of cherry mixed with oak Palate - oily, sweet corn with baking spice, oak and hint of vanilla. Finish - medium rich finish with good heat Good bottled in bond to have in the rotation. Solid work by Jim Beam to re-release this.

    Blind tasting 5/3/20 (Rare Breed, Pikesville & Rowan’s Creek) Nose: sweet vanilla and baking spice Palate: balanced with baking spice, tobacco with rich full flavor that coats our entire mouth Finish: rich medium My first attempt at a blind tasting, first bottle of rye purchased and it won the tasting.

I’m not really impressed, because it lacks depth or complexity

Real explosion of richness, flavor and depth Finish - long and strong with solid spice and dry feel It is most definitely a barrel proof. Upon your first swallow you will feel the full wrath of this selection.

    2/15/20 Batch 13 - 128.4 proof Nose: vanilla, sweet with baking spice Palate: rich, oily with good mouth feel with vanilla, cinnamon, and baking spice Finish: LONG, full, rich with vanilla and baking spice I have tried both batch 12 & 13 and I prefer 13, because it is richer with more vanilla
