Decent legs, a little darker color than I was expecting from the description.
Nose: Rye-forward, with some caramel and almost bread dough
Palate: immediate rye spice and sweet, like a young high rye bourbon. a little oily, and no real fruit notes. I back up my 'young' description, as a drop of water doesn't open it up at all
Finish: pretty short, spicy at first but gives way to the bready dough from the nose. almost like a coors banquet. disappointing
It tastes like a high rye, young bourbon with a letdown on the finish. Fine for what it is, but I'm glad I got just 1 pour. Might be kind of neat to surprise non-bourbon drinking friends with a rye-forward craft bourbon. This is coming from a guy that likes high-rye bourbons. It's not bad, just not for me.
