Kilchoman Machir Bay

En nariz pura turba, seco y licoroso recordando al jerez. Cereal. Aroma de madera casi carbonizada con toques marinos. En boca este carbonizado acompañado de licor con un muro amargo dejan una experiencia muy peculiar. De este muro se va desprendiendo de a poco la turba y iodo característicos. En boca juega un poco más el iodo ya dando tregua en un agradable final aunque levemente picante.

Nose: Vanilla, peat smoke, ash, lemon,salt Palate: Lemon, vanilla, brine, smoke, bacon Finish: Tobacco, ash, smoke, oak, vanilla, caramel Excellent basic islay whiskey. Done very well.

A complex, Single Malt Scotch Whisky by the Kilchoman Distillery; a farm distillery founded by Anthony Wills; in Islay, Scotland. It is made using 30% of their own barley & the balance is purchased from Port Ellen Maltings. It's a vatting of 4 & 5-year-old Bourbon cask matured & Oloroso-finished malt. It has a smoky birth with notes of straw, salted white chocolate & hints of sherry; while a balanced & clean life adds notes of black pepper, butterscotch, lemon peel, fresh strawberry & fruit punch; that led to a long & tar death with notes of peat, salt & baking spices.
