But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.

"The nose gives off classic Kentucky rye whiskey aromas of rye bread with hints of toasted fennel seed, fresh thyme, oregano, clove, tart green apples and a hint of lemon. The palate is a blend of spicy, fruity, and tart flavors with vanilla-caramel richness coating a midpalate of more tart, citric fruit, roasted almonds, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and a slight grassiness—overall quite balanced and mixable. The finish is tart and toasty with a peppery kick rounding it out."
