I am not a big Rye whiskey fan. I blind tasted Knob Creek Rye and Bulleit Rye to select one to go along with several bourbons for a whiskey tasting I am hosting. I picked the Knob Creek Rye going away. While it is spicy with back heat it is not overwhelming. It is rather complex for a rye. A few drops of chilled water opened up the herbal notes dramatically. After my test I had a Knob Creek Rye with two rocks and some chilled distilled water. While I'm not about to replace the items on my top shelf for a rye whiskey it was a refreshing drink. I hope my tasters will enjoy it.
