Knob Creek Single Barrel Select Rye

For the $ this may be my fav rye on the market. Tried alongside Barrell Seagrass & Seagrass Gray Label, Whistlepig 10 and A Midwinter Night’s Dram. Beats Whistlepig at the tough barnyard rye game and has enough nuance to compete with Barrell (and lose fractionally) at 6/10 of the price. Knob Creek is the hero once again.

Rubbing alcohol on nose, but pretty smooth although spicy. Popcorn.

Subtle complex nose, some rye and spice. The flavor is a full spice bomb, rich creamy body and a combo of tingly spice from alcohol and rye. The proof of the single barrel is doing good work, excellent combo.

Virginia ABC pick- this packs a big punch. Super sweet up front, very spicy cinnamon finish. Lots of rye and anise flavors but also a dark maple. Maybe some leather at the tail end.
