Laphroaig Select

On the nose it's baking spices, seaweed, wood notes like chocolate and of course peat but not overwhelmingly peaty (of course very peaty but in comparison to other laphroaig). On the palate it's more peaty and more salty (mainly the seaweed), the wood note have some strange synergism with the peat which makes this very enjoyable, one of my favorite laphroaig's!

Smells of permanent marker. Fire up front. Tastes of outdoor campfire. I hear that means charcoal/peaty.

Not very good. Unbalanced and sharp. On a good not it is great for cooking especially smoky baked beans.

The Coco Pops/Breakfast Cereal Laphroiag.

Very nice peated smokyness on the nose, notably at first, then it fades and lets your taste explore the complexity of the secondary notes. Same thing on the palate starts strong but fades slowly to unveil the rest of the floral fruit and nuttiness that completes a rich flavor. The peat is incredible you can actually taste the herbal earthy mineral taste of it. Simply delightful!! One of my favorites so far.
