Laphroaig Triple Wood

If you are fond of the classic flavors of Laphroaig, you need to check out their triple wood offering. Same base of strong peat and smoke, but delicious savory notes of fruit and complex sweetness rock like an undercurrent on the palate. Very peaty and full bodied

May be good to Peat lovers but WAY to peaty/Smokey for me. Like drinking a 12 hour unseasoned pork butt

The big distinction between this and other laphroiag drams is the rounded fruity notes from the sherry butts. That definitely softens the brine and leather notes I'm accustomed to from this distiller. Very tasty but not on quite level with Ardbeg Uigaidal
