Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch A120

Getting Garam Masala on the nose, but its not carrying through to the taste. Smells fantastic, would be great for baking to be honest. Lots of vanilla. Good sipper if you’re on a mission and go for barrel strength. Nice sweetness to it that might get cloying after 2 or 3, specifically raw clover honey. Finishes surprisingly clean, which for me isn’t surprising for higher proofs.

I've learn that 125 proof is not for me. Drinking neat all Inget is dry and spices. The flavors are all muddy. Very rye forward in a bad way. I'm guessing that you don't get something with a proof od 125 thinking that it's a sipper, neat. It takes a lot of ice to smooth this one out. Knock nack the rye.amdlower the proof. With ice I get caramel, cinnamon and nutmeg. I sent $60. I love Larceny. But this one I won't buy again.

Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Medium-dark amber. Nose: Classic caramel and vanilla notes. Palate: Clove and oak tannins with some mild cinnamon and baking spice. Finish: Ling lengrh with medium heat. Splash: No new flavors are revealed. Overall: 9/10 - I'm partial to Larceny BP, and found this dusty in December 2024, almost 5 years after it was relwased. I thought about hanging on to it, but I'm glad I opened it. Heaven Hill makes some tasty bourbon.

The nose is so somewhat hot, full of charred oak, smoke, dark chocolate, and touches of vanilla and molasses. It is very full-bodied and unmistakably wheated, giving you a very tempting invitation. The proof immediately comes across but that is not a distraction whatsoever. The palate is semi-dry and chewy, and starts with a burst of cinnamon, followed by charred oak in just a little bit of cherry syrup. The flavors all pretty much meld together, coming across as slightly astringent. But there is flavor there to discover with each sip in each chew. The finish is long, spicy and hot. The spice lingers and lingers, as the oaky and astringent notes very slowly fade.
