Ledaig Sinclair Series Rioja Cask

Avermelhado. Turfa leve ao início, forte ao final. Paladar rico, leve picância, agradável.

Salty, mild peat nose. Slick, light body. Peat lessens. Doughy red wine, oak chips. Simple, easy drinking.

Nose: briny, smokey, peaty, cinnamon, raspberry, bit herbal, rotten grass, vanilla sweet, bit young (vibrant and acetony), vegetable Palate:herbal, full, sweet, peppery towards the late palate, nutty Finish: honey sweet, salty/herbal, peaty

Best value in scotch, maybe. For the price its delicious and fairly rich. Not quite complex or rich enough to rate higher, but definitely competes with drams 2x the price.

Color: Rose gold. Nose: Savory hickory smoke and barbecued pork. A spray of sea salt meets full, heathery peat. Palate: Raspberries and strawberries at the outset, which quickly transition to soft, fatty bacon. A little spice from the Rioja casks is softened by rich honey. Finish: Stellar. Delicious and powerful. Sweet peat. Diluted: Nose peels back a bit to reveal more of the red wine notes, while the palate sheds a bit of the sweetness for more dryness and smoke. The finish is still outstanding! Deep and sturdy.
