Ledaig Sinclair Series Rioja Cask

Nose - smells dirty, leathery, grassy but also has sweetness. I get hints of decent amount of peat as well, smoky. I can clearly smell wine and red fruits. I also get oils and chemicals. Gorgeous color. Tongue - immediately get hit with sweetness. Has a wine like mouth feel. It checks of points that ledaig 10 was missing. Decent hints of cinnamon, star anise, nutmeg and cloves. It coats the mouth really well! Rich mouth feel. Added two drops of water - seems like it got sweeter. On the tongue it got smokier. Leaves a leathery after taste which i love. Its a wonderful dram which I prefer over the 10 year old.

The nose is sweet, notes of sherry cask and peat. The palate is very much the Spanish Roja cask, with mild peat, and strong spice. The finish is dry, short sherry, long smoke. I feel like what i like best about Ledaig is overwhelmed here.

93 points. Spectacular scotch, with a very balanced profile. There is a bit of honey, a bit of dry straw ans a perfecfly pleasand burn. Only thing that could be better is the finish, which is of medium length.
