Litchfield Cask Strength Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Reviewed November 18, 2023Heavy wood char and smoke but smooth; missing traditional sweet caramels, vanilla and cinnamon notes; high proof lingers on tongue even after finish; rich, fruity nose with high proof very apparent; oak tastes with corn and wood chew; sharp tart and spice palate; complexity missing, very hot finish; comes right at you immediately with spicey wood alcohol pop. Not worth a higher price point unless looking to experience a smaller Connecticut maker. -

Reviewed August 25, 2019π: Corn, Swedish fish, ethanol, brown sugar, dark baking spices, γ» π : Warming mouthfeel, Sweet corn, Caramel, Cherry, Oak, Anise, Almond butter γ» π: Finish is a bit hot, but a few drops of water does wonders here. Long and nutty finish, with some oak on the back end, which is surprising considering the age. γ»γ»γ» I truly cannot wait to see what Litchfield does with their current stock. This stuff at 8-10 years will be liquid gold. Itβs an incredibly enjoyable pour now at around 3 - 4 years old. Despite the youth, the flavor is deep and rich. Keep this in a barrel for another 5-7 years and the sky is the limit. I will continue to seek this out as is, but will be waiting patiently when they start releasing some older juice!60.0 USD per Bottle
