Tasting Notes
"The nose isn't super expressive, but you do get some barrel spices and honeyed toast. The taste is lightly sweet with a bit of young corn whiskey popping up. Although there is a peppery bite on the finish, it is relatively easy to drink at 115 proof. The blending of the two different bourbons comes through with the light sweetness the wheat brings along with the heartiness of the rye. It strikes a good balance. Adding a splash water brings a bit more maple to the fore and brings out a more herbal/grassy note that you miss at the higher proof. If you like a bourbon that dials down the vanilla and sweet notes, you'll enjoy this. "
