Maker's Mark 46 French Oaked

I’ve had this several times but never had a bottle to myself until now.. I do enjoy this dram quite a bit, lots of cocoa on this one. Cocoa comes through early for me then finishes berry sweet with an element of wood. It has a nice oily mouth feel as well. For me this is close to a 90/100. The finish is rather short but that doesn’t appear to push me away, instead I want more and more like when you take a bite of a chocolate bar you impulsively want another bite. 89.5/100 for me Cheers 🥃

Very surprised with this one. The wood notes from the french oak staves added in the barrel are extremely present. In fact, I can barely recognize the normal Maker's Mark through it. More wood notes and a bit sweeter than the original. Its higher price compared to the original (13$ CAD more where I live) limits it from becoming an immediate recommendation over the original. A must try. It became immediately a favorite of mine. Excellent served neat.
